Our Engagement

Todd Youngblood of Roots Cooperative acted as a lead steward and was fundamental in the organization, design, and development of v1 of the Vivero application, in addition to providing fundraising and governance support. His expertise enabled the Earth Regenerators to create a robust platform that empowered its community to connect, collaborate, and make informed decisions about allocating resources to regenerative initiatives.

Mesq’al Kebra and Todd Youngblood are actively exploring the next evolution of the Vivero Commons as v2 of the Vivero app.

Vivero: A Technical Overview

Vivero is built as a white-label Progressive Web Application (PWA), combining the best of web and mobile app technologies. This approach offers several key benefits for our community:

  • As a PWA, Vivero doesn't require users to download the application from the Android or iOS app stores. Instead, users can simply visit the Vivero website using their mobile browser and opt to "Add to Home Screen" to install the app directly on their device. This eliminates the need for app store approval processes and makes Vivero more accessible to a broader audience.

  • PWAs are designed to work seamlessly across different devices and platforms. Whether our community members use Android, iOS, or access Vivero from their desktop browser, they can expect a consistent, high-quality user experience tailored to their device.

  • Vivero leverages PWA technologies to provide offline functionality and faster load times. Once installed, the app can cache key resources and data locally on the user's device, enabling them to access important information and features even with limited or no internet connectivity.

  • As a white-label PWA, Vivero can be updated and maintained centrally by our development team. Any changes or new features are immediately available to all users without the need for manual app updates or app store resubmissions. This ensures our community always has access to the latest improvements and enhancements.

  • The white-label nature of Vivero allows for easy customization and branding. Our platform can be adapted to meet the specific needs and visual identity of different regenerative communities, while maintaining the core functionality and user experience that makes Vivero a powerful tool for collaboration and impact.
